Editor's Note Hi,
As I mentioned last month, my wife and I will be traveling back to Chicago for Christmas to be with our 2 kids and five grandchildren. We will also be visiting with good friends and other members of our family. As is the case for pretty much everyone, we will be exposed to a lot more food than is anywhere near healthy. It is often hard to watch what we eat and make healthy choices, especially during the holidays. In an attempt to help with this challenge, my article for this month will give you some pointers about sensible eating strategies. I hope you find it useful. Additionally, to help you get a head start on preventing those extra pounds from showing up during the holidays, you might want to purchase my book before the holidays and bone up on some simple ways you can stay healthy all year.
I have reduced the price of my book down to $19.95 to make it more affordable and to start celebrating the holidays early. Don't wait until that extra 10 or 15 pounds shows up at the end of the holidays. Start some healthy habits now.
The price of my book and all eight bonuses is reduced from I hope everyone who hasn't purchased my book yet takes advantage of this great offer.
Food for Thought You control your attitude or it controls you. Feature Article: Making Good Holiday Food Choices. Just about everyone likes the holidays. It's a time when we get together to enjoy being with friends and family. One of the challenges we have during this time of year is gaining unwanted pounds because of all the foods that we should be staying away from, or at least watching the quantities we eat more carefully. Rather than telling you about all the things you shouldn't be eating, I'm going to give you a few simple ideas you can use to eat more sensibly. First of all, if you're going to a party, plan to eat a sensible snack before going so you're not as tempted to eat everything you see when you get there. Just like going food shopping on an empty stomach is not a good idea, the same thing holds true for parties. Secondly, as adults, we should be able to practice some level of self control when it comes to eating at a social gathering. It's not like you're going to be there for all time and never see a normal meal again. Try to practice some self control on portion sizes if nothing else. Instead of filling a big plate with multiples of all the foods you just have to have, take a smaller plate and only take one each of the foods that are really your favorites that you don't get to eat very often. And don't stand near the snack table. Get your plate, take what you want, and go somewhere else. If you practice eating a nourishing diet on a regular basis, you're chances of "needing" or even wanting all the junk food served at parties will be diminished. You'll look at all the junk and say to yourself - "do I really want to put this garbage in my body after all the good I've been doing by following a sound, reasonable diet?". This psychological factor can go a long way to helping you resist party foods at this time of year. And, here is a list of some of the heart healthy foods you should be eating on a regular basis. Almonds, bananas, blueberries, barley, chicken breasts, kidney beans, oatmeal, peanut butter, pork loin, salmon, sardines, turkey breast, tuna, walnuts, and white fish, just to name a few. If you see snacks made with any of these ingredients, they will be better for you than all the cheeses, spreads, and dips that are usually offered at parties. By sticking to these few simple tactics, you can spare yourself a lot of extra dieting and exercising after the start of the new year. And your body will thank you for it with less indigestion and sleepless nights. About Our Services and Products On line fitness coach Tom Manfredi is the creator of the site

Pole Walking Learn how "you can turn a simple walk around the block into an efficient, effective, aerobic - total body workout!"
Fast Track To Fat Loss This new fat loss program is unlike anything on the market because each user will receive:
This site offers all kinds of exercise and rehab equipment. They have exercise bands, balls, mats, foam rolls, weights, and all kinds of other equipment. If you need any kind of exercise aids, this site is definitely worth looking at
As the name implies, this site specializes in equipment used for yoga. They have excellent prices, and sell some very good exercise mats, along with other helpful equipment, books and videos.
ActiveForever.com This site has equipment that is more medically based. It may be a good alternative if you're looking for physical therapy equipment or other things that a medical person may have recommended.
Shoebuy.com I have a lot of trouble finding shoes that fit me right (weird foot problems), but this site often works for me. They not only have very competitive prices and a great variety of shoes, but they offer f.r.e.e shipping and f.r.e.e returns.
FootSolutions.com This site tends to specialize more in orthotics and other foot aids as well as speialty shoes for people with foot problems.
Buy.com This site really has little to do with fitness or nutrition, but it is one of my favorite sites. They carry everything from electronics to books. Their prices are some of the most competitive on the internet, and they often offer free shipping. If I am looking to buy almost anything, I check them out first. This link is only for US and Canadian buyers.
Identity Theft
I don’t know about you, but with all the news coverage lately about identity theft and all the problems it can cause for people, my wife and I have become somewhat paranoid about shredding any mail we get with any kind of identifying info in it, and she freaks out any time I order something on the internet and give out info there.
Well, a woman I know here in Arizona recently sent me some info about a company that offers $1,ooo,ooo coverage to help take care of the problem if someone steals your identity. The company is called LifeLock. You can get to their site by clicking on the banner below if it's visable, or by copying the following code into your browser – They charge a very reasonable monthly fee and offer a number of included services (they also give discounts for paying annually). Go take a look and see what you think. I signed up. I think my peace of mind is worth that kind of money.
