Tom Manfredi

Hello! My name is Tom Manfredi and I'm the primary architect of Fitness-After-50.com (my wife does proof read most of my content). I come to you with both a strong educational and practical background in exercise and fitness. Additionally, they tell me I'm a leading edge baby boomer (I think that's a polite way of saying I'm a little over 55).

speaker and coach

I hold a master’s degree in exercise physiology and cardiac rehabilitation. I was certified by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) as an Exercise Test Technologist. I have taught courses in fitness, anatomy, and physiology at the college level. I am currently working on a PhD in nutrition.

On the practical side, I participated in long distance running events and triathlons during the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s. I completed over 50 running events and 20 triathlons. I also worked for several years as a volunteer, Category I race official for the US Triathlon Federation.

I am also a martial arts instructor (4th degree black belt). I've been involved in the martial art of aikido for over 40 years. My experiences have included teaching at several different martial arts schools as well as coaching, refereeing, and judging at regional, national, and international level events.

I have over 20 years experience presenting a variety of topics to adult audiences all over the U.S., Europe, and Asia. My presentations are interactive, entertaining, and informative.
